Industrial Training

Keen on technology? You found the right place!

Saint-Gobain is one of the leading suppliers in its field worldwide. This requires an immense technical effort.

Whether it is the production of flat glass, windshields, container glass or, for example, insulation materials, the smooth production processes are essential in order to deliver top-quality products to our customers.

But it is not only in production, also in the trade at Saint-Gobain Building Distribution Germany, with the well-known brand Raab Karcher, there is a need for technical qualifications.

Commercial training

Business, Organisation and Communication are trumps!

If you enjoy organizing and communicating and have experience working with computers and new media, you can make a contribution.

The Saint-Gobain affiliate companies offer various commercial training professions and in the EDP area,  training as a specialist in computer sciences.
The focus of the training is on close links with practice. Right from the start you will be involved in the work and will be supported by experienced instructors.

Information about the training content and the qualifications we are looking for can be found in the individual pages about the training courses. There are also the locations where these are offered.

Dual Course of study

The practice-oriented alternative – Degree course at the Dual College / Vocational Academy

If you are a high school graduate and want to combine a commercial or technical vocational training with an advanced degree, then a course of studies at a  Berufsakademie or a dual university is the right alternative to studying at a university.

Saint-Gobain offers various possibilities.

FAQ

What is better? To apply online or with a classic written Online application?

As an innovative company, Saint-Gobain is electronically closely networked. Therefore, we can process online applications more quickly and easily. Of course, we also accept applications on paper.

  • Online applications: ideally you should complete our online application sheet. Here you have the possibility of inserting a covering letter and attaching a certificate, CV and photo (please only in PDF format with a maximum size of 4MB)
  • Application on paper: Binders or files structure your documents and simultaneously protect them. Your application will be processed electronically. Therefore, please do not stick your documents together, please ensure you submit clearly legible copies and writing only on one side of the  documents

What belongs in an orderly application?

  • A letter, which makes reference to the position being applied for and our company.
  • A meaningful, tabular CV.
  • All relevant certificates
  • A recent photo

When should I submit my application?

For the start of the training period in August and September, the selection process in the majority of our subsidiary companies already begins in the previous year. Therefore, the sooner you apply, the better. However, applications are possible right up to the summer months.

Can I submit my final exam certificate later?

Yes.

How important are grades?

Grades are an important criterion for the selection of candidates, as are language skills, practical experience etc. We, naturally, also take the differences between schools into account and know grades are also dependent upon form on the day.

Must I have knowledge of foreign languages?

Saint-Gobain is an international group that does business all over the world. Knowledge in our working languages English and French are, therefore, definitely an advantage. However, if at your workplace German is predominantly spoken and there is no contact with foreign customers, foreign language skills are not a must.

I have difficulties with the online questionnaire. Who can I contact about it?

For questions relating to content please contact Ms. Blasius (kristin.blasius@saint-gobain.com@saint-gobain.com, Tel. 0241 40020-231) and for technical problems Ms. Dreßen (silvana.dressen@saint-gobain.com, Tel. 0241 40020-131).

I have submitted my application – what happens next?

We will check whether you are eligible for the advertised training vacancy or if another training place at Saint-Gobain comes into question. In the event of a positive evaluation, you will receive an invitation to an interview. The further processing will vary depending on the position.
