Aachen (08-Apr-2019). Today Saint-Gobain Germany and RIB Software SE announced the formation of a new joint venture SGTWO. For RIB, the 100% subsidiary YTWO will act as shareholder of the new company.

SGTWO, a public company under the laws of Germany (Aktiengesellschaft), combines Saint-Gobain’s rich competence in innovative building solutions with RIB’s 5D BIM and AI technologies. The objective of the joint venture is to improve the way of modular building and planning in an enhanced 5D BIM solution. The new company will be headquartered in Düsseldorf, Germany.

The joint venture with RIB is a next important step of the new digital strategy of Saint-Gobain. With SGTWO Saint-Gobain, one of the world’s largest producers of building materials, and RIB, a leading provider of 5D BIM technology to the construction and real estate industries, are increasing the efficiency of planning by creating a more realistic and better presentation of the building than in a classic BIM model. In addition to optimized planning, the benefit in controlling the execution is the constant, prompt comparison of target and actual values.

“With RIB, we have found an extremely strong and experienced partner for our strategy to put digital at the heart of our business. With SGTWO, we are creating a new planning experience for our customers using latest technological advances, such as BIM and AI. We are very pleased to launch this new and exciting business as reference for our ongoing Growth strategy”, said Raimund Heinl, CEO of Saint-Gobain Germany and Austria.

“In our mission to digitalize the construction industry’s ecosystem, we have found in Saint-Gobain a like-minded partner, with an unmatched history of growth, innovation and success in building materials.
