The initiative "Germany baut e.V." had extended invitations, to a top meeting with Federal Minister of Economics Sigmar Gabriel on Tuesday, 29th November 2016, in Berlin. Together with Sigmar Gabriel, during the evening, top decision-makers from the construction industry and participants from along the entire value-added chain, discussed the future of construction.

Together with Sigmar Gabriel, during the evening, top decision-makers from the construction industry and participants from along the entire value-added chain, discussed the future of construction.

The market opportunities for the construction industry are currently extremely good and the building potentials are reaching almost unprecedented heights, but at the same time the lack of skilled workers, an inadequate integration of refugees and a lack of planning competence are hindering developments. In addition, there are image problems facing the construction sector. To discuss approaches and to consider joint concepts for the solving these problems was one aim of the meeting.
