The High-Performance Materials Activity of the Saint-Gobain Innovative Materials Sector focuses on industry and construction markets, harnessing prime expertise in three main types of materials: mineral ceramics (though the Ceramics, Grains & Powders, Abrasives and Crystals businesses), performance polymers (Performance Plastics) and glass textiles (Textile Solutions).
The dynamic and profitable Surface Conditioning Business Unit is part of the Ceramic Materials division. This B.U. is manufacturing and marketing a full range of products and solutions (ceramic particles, suspensions, and chemicals) for highly technical surface finishing processes (lapping, polishing, CMP, cleaning, wire sawing, grinding) for various industries ( semiconductor, optics, micromechanics, metallography, Automotive, etc.).
To enhance our team, we are looking for the following profile, to be based either at our location in Köln (D), Avignon (FR) or in a home office:
Technical Sales Manager (m/f/d)
Your responsibilities
  • Responsibility for sales for all product lines in the business of Surface Conditioning in the area Central & Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, Russia and South Africa
  • Analyze the markets to identify opportunities and new customers
  • Negotiation of sales contracts
  • Manage existing accounts in link with our Customer Service
  • Strong interaction with product managers for each product line
  • Contribution to the Marketing & Sales Strategy
  • Report to the European Business Manager of Surface Conditioning
Your profile
  • Engineer, MBA, PhD or Master degree preferably in Material Science
  • Minimum 5 years of solid sales experience in industrial/technical markets
  • Experience in Materials Science, Abrasives or Chemistry would be a plus
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels
  • Self-motivating working style, team player and with high level of autonomy
  • Disciplined and well organized
  • Willingness to extensively travel (30% - 50%) with overnight stays
  • Fluent in German and English mandatory, French would be a bonus
